Geospatial Work

Geographic Information Systems / 2023
Do you want to get involved in mapping?  One of my many types of expertise is geospatial research and contextualized problems in a geospatial context.  You can start your own mapping activity by taking the following steps:

1) Create a free public account using an ArcGIS login:
An ArcGIS public account is a free account that is available for individuals to create and share content with limits on usage.

2) Follow the steps below to create an ArcGIS public account using an ArcGIS login:

From the website, click the Sign In link at the top of the site or access the sign in page directly from https://www.arcgis.com/home/signin.html.
Once you have signed up for the cloud-based software, please go ahead try to make a map from County Health Rankings data.  Please click on the link

Click Create an account.  For more detailed instruction, please see more steps after the video.  Just a note that the video below used a Python-callable program.
Zip code is more important than genetic code to determine overall health.”
Much of my work over the years rely on research collaborations.  For instance, it is important to be thinking individually and collectively (through synchronous and/or asynchronous means) about specific topics.  It is especially important to be thinking about topics over time and develop them, so that others who follow can conveniently access these resources within the respective local areas within the neighborhood.

Healthy access to foods is a serious concern in many areas of the country.  For instance, in many urban areas, there may be places that have poor access to fresh foods and vegetables.  Additionally, there are places within the United States that have higher rates of violence than other places.
